Det er desværre ikke for vores grønne øjnes skyld, men fordi vi er desperat dumme og har alt for mange penge.
Det er selvfølgelig “scammere” jeg snakker om.
Og til ære for dem der ikke ved hvad det er, kommer her et par eksempler fra det virkelige liv.
Første gang jeg løb ind i en scammer var da jeg havde en profil på en dating-side. Jeg fik en meget sød mail fra en russisk pige som havde vedlagt et billede af sig selv. Hun lignede ikke en model, men så rigtig, rigtig sød ud. Hun skrev om hvad hun arbejdede med og at hun grundlæggende var tilfreds men alligevel savnede sin soulmate. Om at hun havde læst min profil og var blevet nysgerrig…
Jeg har desværre slettet emailen, men den gjorde at jeg blev skeptisk og ærligt skrev tilbage at det meget lignede et “Russian bride scam” hvor pigen bliver mere og mere forelsket i offeret; bliver ved med at sende flotte billeder og alt er ovenud rosenrødt lige indtil hendes mor bliver alvorligt syg og hun har brug for ekstremt dyr medicin… Efter at have pumpet offeret for kontanter aftales det så at mødes, hvortil hun skal bruge en stor sum penge til flybillet osv. Herefter forsvinder hun sporløst.
Det værste ved den slags er at man ofte er lidt i tvivl om hvorvidt det nu er en scam, eller om der virkelig skulle være en sød pige derude der faldt over ens profil 
Det er lidt nemmere at gennemskue spam-mail som fx:
Hi! I am bored this afternoon. I am 25 y.o. girl that would like to chat with you. Email me at fvxaz at anymailonline.info only. Will send some of my pictures

Efter jeg har oprettet en MySpace-profil er jeg igen blevet antastet af et par scammere.

I simply can’t understand how anyone can bring themselves to do that sort of thing.

It just sounds 100% as one of those “russian bride” scams
An absolutely beautiful girl (and even a virgin
) that’s a bit lonely and extremely interested in getting to know some odd guy. She usually has some sick mother that needs very expensive medicine that she will talk about later on. And at some point she desperately want to meet, and need money for an airplane ticket
Instead of writing about yourself on your profile, you tell your whole life story in private conversations. Probably sending more pictures along the way. Every mail is prewritten with at most one or two sentences added on, based on the reply.Have you read my profile at all ? I’m still a student and haven’t got that kind of money
I would love you to be true, but sadly you are not.
I would love to chat with the real person behind all this, though. Like what’s the deal? Do you get paid to do this or are you self-employed ? Do you in fact live in Russia ?
